Treaty 1 Territory, Homeland of the Red River Métis, Winnipeg, MB - Manitoba Liberals are calling on Public Health and the Provincial Government to immediately reinstate basic pandemic precautions in order to reduce cases and save lives.
Liberal MLAs Dougald Lamont (St. Boniface), Dr. Jon Gerrard (River Heights) and Cindy Lamoureux (Tyndall Park), have written to Premier Stefanson, Health Minister Audrey Gordon, and Chief Provincial Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin, to call for accurate and timely information.
"We are very concerned that unless you change direction, there is a real and dangerous risk that we will see yet another surge in cases that will once again be overwhelming Manitoba's health system, resulting in unnecessary deaths, preventable disability through long covid, and more delayed surgeries," said Dougald Lamont, Manitoba Liberal Leader and MLA for St. Boniface.
The letter states MLAs are getting many calls and emails regarding the lengths and distances people with covid are having to go to receive a proper PCR test.
